All MIXmom plans have unlimited projects, versions and notes. The only resource we bill for is storage and priority support. See below for our current storage plans. MIXmom is currently in private beta so you will need an account to sign up for a plan below — please get in touch if you would like to try it!
Will you limit the number of projects and versions I have?
No, we only consider the total storage used across all your projects and versions. You can organize them any way you like!
What does level matching do?
Level matching simulates what happens on major DSPs and streaming services by normalizing the volume of all the versions to -14 integrated LUFS . It's a well known psychoacoustic phenomena that listeners always prefer the louder of any two recordings that are otherwise similar. By matching the level, it's possible to make judgements based on the content and treatment of the audio rather than on volume.
How is this different from using a DAW?
MIXmom makes it easy to AB using key commands (use the number keys to easily solo versions in the player). It also runs on your phone for easy listening on-the-go or in the car. You can also add markers per version to keep track of notes specific to a certain part of a song and version. Finally it's easy to share with people who may not have a DAW running on their computer.
Is MIXmom secure?
We use industry standard security practices to protect your files and links, similar in design and implementation to most major file sharing and delivery platforms. Asset downloads from our CDN are protected with cryprographically secure tokens with short expiration times, authorized individually per access, user and object, which ensures files are only accessible to those who have been granted access.
Why is my storage usage greater than the size of the file I uploaded?
We encode several versions of your file (with lossless compression, and high-quality MP3 encoding) and also store the original for you.
Because of this, each file will use slightly more disk space. This ensures that your listeners hear the highest quality audio and no "recompression" impacts your uploads in lossless mode.
What happens if I have a lot of files and then downgrade my subscription?
When you are "over-quota" (meaning your account has more files stored than storage space), we turn off sharing links and the player. Remove mixes and versions until you are using less than 100% of the storage on your active plan to re-enable the player and sharing. Existing links will all come back exactly as they were if you either remove unneeded projects or re-upgreade your storage plan.
Are there any limits on sharing and links?
You can share with an unlimited number of MIXmom users. On public links, we employ very basic rate limiting to prevent abuse. MIXmom is not a public sharing platform — it is intended for collecting targeted feedback from select parties. If you would like to post a link that will receive high traffic, please get in touch to ensure we can provide the best experience.
